Eros Day is fast approaching.
South Australia’s version of Eros Day began on 1 October 1935. Two young medical students from the University of Adelaide agreed to meet in England when they both knew they would be in the country visiting. Without mobile phones or emails to make plans they predetermined their meeting date and place, the Statue of Eros at Piccadilly Circus. They decided they should continue with annual meetings on the same day, time and place. And so the tradition continues.
Please join friends of the Agent General’s office on the steps at the Statue of Eros for the annual photograph at 12pm sharp. This will be followed by a Vili’s pie and a Coopers with fellow South Australians at our office in the Australia Centre.
If you know of any other South Australians who will be on holidays in London at this time, please pass on these details.
For those wanting to join us at our office from 12:30pm – 1:30pm on Eros Day, 1 October please email firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday 26 September, RSVP is essential.
